Creative Freedom Awards are given to public elementary school teachers in the Triangle based on the creative and inspiring work they do to promote student learning and growth.  While many awards honoring teachers exist, ours is unique because recipients also showcase their ideas at a free back-to-school celebration for teachers (Teacher Inspiration & Resources Fair).

This spring, 16 public elementary school teachers in the Triangle were chosen to be Creative Freedom Award recipients.   Since our organization is still in its first year, we recruited our first cohort of CFA recipients through recommendations from teacher colleagues.  (Future award winners will be selected through an application process.)

Creative Freedom Award recipients will receive a cash award of $250.00; a framed certificate; personalized prize package; and recognition by local news media.  Most exciting, CFA recipients will have the opportunity to present an instructional idea of their choice at the Teacher Inspiration & Resources Fair, a free event we are hosting for elementary school teachers in the Triangle to network and share their best ideas.  Prior to the fair, Creative Freedom Award recipients will participate in a two-day workshop in which they will freely collaborate and receive peer feedback on their presentations.

We are excited to announce our first cohort of Creative Freedom Award recipients here!
